Cape Coral Beach — the beach right in Cape Coral

If you want to enjoy the ocean, the beach, and the sun right in Cape Coral, the city beach is the perfect place to be. Cape Coral Beach is popular with locals and, thanks to the gently sloping shoreline, is suitable for families with small children. They’ll also find a playground here. On a long pier, you can see many anglers, because the water is full of fish. Sanibel Island — the beach and Lighthouse Pier

Southwest of Cape Coral in the Gulf of Mexico lies Sanibel Island. Just a few minutes from Fort Myers, visitors can relax here away from crowds of tourists and large hotel complexes. Strict building regulations on the island, which is home to about 6,000 residents, ensure this. A large part of Sanibel is protected nature preserve and is home to diverse birdlife, including ospreys and pelicans. Behind picturesque sand dunes lies Bowman’s Beach. Visitors won’t find as many colorful seashells as they do here on any other beach in the USA. The shallow water also makes Bowman’s Beach interesting for families with children.

Captiva Island Beach – Beach

On the coast of the tropical island of Captiva Island lies one of Florida’s most beautiful beaches. Here, visitors can collect seashells and take long walks. The sand is fine and light. Captiva Beach is one of the few beaches near Cape Coral where the shoreline drops off steeply into the ocean. However, the surf is moderate, so this stretch of coast is also well suited for inexperienced swimmers. You often see harmless spotted eagle rays right off the coast. Dolphins also frequently swim very close to shore. Captiva Island is known as a romantic spot, especially thanks to its sunsets.

In addition, the small town on the Gulf of Mexico impresses with its fine, bright-white sandy beach under palm trees. Thanks to its shallow water, this stretch of coast is especially popular with families. Active travelers can fish, golf, and play tennis here, and water-sports lovers will get their money’s worth with windsurfing, jet skiing, kitesurfing, and parasailing. Lovers Key Beach & State Park

For years, Lovers Key Island could only be reached by boat. It was said that only couples in love would make the long journey to find a romantic spot—hence the name. Even today, the unspoiled beach with its fine sand and turquoise-blue water is a popular place for weddings. Beachgoers can swim, picnic, and collect seashells here. In addition, Lovers Key is a true natural paradise. Offshore, manatees and dolphins frolic, while bald eagles circle overhead. A particularly good way to get to know the park’s waterscapes is on a kayak tour.

Pine Island is located just under 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from Cape Coral. The island, with fewer than 800 residents, can be reached via a road. Here, visitors will find a relaxed island atmosphere and colorful houses that give off a Caribbean flair and today house art galleries, gift shops, and restaurants. The landscape is lined with extensive plantations where citrus fruits, pineapples, and mangos are grown. With its mangrove forests, the coast off Pine Island is perfect for kayaking trips and fishing excursions. And even if you don’t catch anything—Bokeelia and St. James City have excellent seafood restaurants. At Sandy Hook Fish and Rib House, visitors can see playful dolphins in the water.
